Greenzer is a next-generation shopping engine designed to make environmentally conscious shopping easier. At Greenzer, we're building a unique service for consumers to browse, compare and shop thousands of greener products from dozens of our carefully chosen merchant partners. Greenzer collects product and merchant information from across the internet to filter and arrange it into a comprehensive catalogue of the web's best and greenest products. We are still in our infancy and will be adding new features and content on an ongoing basis. How Greenzer Chooses its Products

Greenzer examines 4 core criteria when selecting products to publish on the website.

Green labels and certifications

Greenzer includes products that are rated, labeled or certified by a number of environmental rating agencies. Government agencies and organizations such as the Environmental Protection Agency, Energy Star, the Forest Stewardship Council, Green Guard and EPEAT all rate or certify products based on a variety of features including energy efficiency and manufacturing processes.

Green attributes

Environmentally preferable attributes are key in our filtering process. Our filter identifies products that have such attributes as organically grown, solar-powered, made from bamboo, post-consumer recycled, compostable, chemical-free, cruelty-free, and reclaimed.

Green categories

Certain product types and categories are inherently greener than conventional alternatives. For instance, rechargeable batteries, compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs), and reusable water bottles all have distinctly lower environmental impacts compared to their conventional counter-parts - disposable batteries, incandescent light bulbs, and plastic water bottles.
