Green Stocking Stuffers for Him

Holiday shopping for notoriously hard to buy for guys can be hard enough without trying to find something that fits your green lifestyle too, so we’re rounding out our guide to stocking stuffers with plenty of green gear for the guy (or guys) on your list. Whether he’s into tech stuff or boy-friendly beauty products, you’ll find a green gift idea below.

badger-winter-wonder-balm

Badger Winter Wonder Balm, $5.45

Coughs and colds are an almost inevitable aspect of winter, but this chest rub uses traditional herbs and essential oils to get your guy back to prime health in no time. If he’s not a fan of chest rub applications or is having more trouble with a stuffy nose, half a teaspoon of the balm in hot water makes a great (and decongesting) steam.

patagonia-mountaineering-sock

Patagonia Mountaineering Sock, $33.00

Socks may not be glamorous, but they’re definitely practical (and the more use a guy gets out of an item, the better). These natural merino wool socks from Patagonia are designed for mountaineering, with extra cushioning and warmth, but they’re also suited to more everyday use in cold climates.

skweet-sport-bottle-wash

Skweet Sport Bottle Wash, $11.95

One of the biggest detractors in using a reusable water bottle is convenience, and most of the time that means cleaning. Pick up a jar of Skweet bottle wash for the men you’re shopping for and they’ll be encouraged to use those Siggs and Klean Kanteens, thanks to the easy cleaning effect of the formula (which won’t leave them rinsing and re-rinsing soapy bottles).

solio-charger

Solio Solar Charger, $99.95

A big ticket item, without a doubt, but also one of the most useful. If you’re looking to spoil a guy this Christmas, the Solio’s an easy way to do it. The solar charger will ensure your favorite fellow is never without a battery boost when he’s using his phone, iPod, GPS, gaming device or digital camera.

volcom-full-stone-visor

Volcom Full Stone Visor, $26.00

It doesn’t look so different from the other visor beanies you’d see on the slopes, but the Full Stone Visor trumps other hats environmentally because it’s made from recycled PET plastics. Better still, 1% of the sales go to environmental causes through the 1% for the Planet program.

leeds-recycled-journal

Leeds Recycled Journal, $14.80

A basic journal for guys to jot down work notes, grocery lists and even phone numbers, all on recycled paper enclosed in a recycled cardboard cover. Tuck a recycled pen in the attached pen port and he’s ready to write.

gentlemens-refinery-eye-gel

The Gentlemens Refinery Eye Gel, $40.00

If your guy gets almost as worried about skincare as you do, this wrinkle-reducing eye gel will be much appreciated. Free of parabens and alcohol and chock full of vitamins and plant ingredients, it’ll tackle dark circles and baggy skin too. And if he thinks eye cream is just for women, just direct him to the company name.

english-retreads-belt

English Retreads Belt, $45.00

For car guys, this belt gives a nod to auto love in its recycled rubber tire material, but even a bike-only guy will get behind the simple and subtle design.

higher-grounds-coffee

Higher Grounds Fair Trade Organic Coffee, $8.95

Much of the coffee on the market today is made under poor working conditions and with the use of a myriad of chemicals, so gifting this can expose the recipient to more ethical beverage choices (that are just as chock full of flavor, and more importantly, caffeine).

zero-zitz1

Zero Zitz! Kreamy Kleanser, $8.31

The name can seem a little too cheerful for the subject matter, but Zero Zitz! cleansers have received rave reviews for the ability to zap blemishes—on both the body and face—without over drying skin or exposing the user to harsh chemicals (it uses all natural vegan ingredients instead).
