Fleurville Yoga Mat Bag Streches Resources

Fleurville Yoga Mat Bag

If you’ve been dashing off to yoga class with your mat haphazardly tucked under one arm–where it wrestles your purse for space and prevents you from being able to navigate turns in sidewalk traffic–it’s time to bag it up. Likewise if you’ve been wanting your own mat (you never know exactly what’s in or on the ones provided) but are worried about how you’re going to schlep it around. We like the Fleurville Yoga Mat Bag, which is available in three designs (Geo Botanical pictured) and features the usual attributes you look for in a yoga mat bag (adjustable strap and zippered compartment for valuables). What makes the Fleurville bags so standout is what goes into making them; they’re created from Re-Run fabric, which is made from recycled plastic bottles (you know, the ones that take 1,000 years to break down in the landfills where they usually end up). Each bag keeps three bottles out of landfills, and while that number isn’t huge, it does mean you’re taking the chance to avoid using new resources and instead prevent waste from heading for the earth.

In addition, the Fleurville Yoga Mat Bags are PVC-free. In our Yoga Mat Face-Off we address some of the problems that PVC has been linked to (it’s been dubbed “the worst plastic from an environmental health perspective”), but few people think of their yoga mat bag also being a culprit. To fill in where PVC would normally be used, Fleurville uses a material they’ve titled Green-LAM which is durable, water repellant, UV resistant, and, most importantly, environmentally friendly.
