Please don’t think that Cameron Diaz’s green lifestyle ends at her driving a Prius. Yes, she does own one of the famous hybrids, but she, like any smart eco-activist, knows better than to think that buying a more fuel-efficient vehicle is enough. She’s a woman who packs her own thermos when she hits the coffee shop and laments when she has to purchase a plastic bottle of water (even if it’s bound for recycling). She reads green books, visits green websites, shops at the farmer’s market and flea markets, and opts for organic and natural fashion when available. And along with all that she finds time to shoot a movie or two.

Diaz’s latest feature film isn’t about a trio of femme fatales battling bad guys under the command of a man named Charlie or about a lovable princess/ogre; it’s a short eco-doc that Cameron filmed with a small crew she gathered. In it, she (and her gang) travel across the U.S. in hybrid SUVs asking everyday people questions to find out what they know about where their food and water come from and what their air is like, and then discusses the findings with experts on the subjects (including Van Jones, special advisor for green jobs, enterprise and innovation at the White House).
