Seventh Generation Says Goodbye to CEO

former seventh generation CEO Jeffrey Hollender

We’ve constantly raving about Seventh Generation on the Greenzer blog and it’s always for good reason. They make products that are as green as they claim to be and have managed to make a profit it doing it (and there’s nothing anti-green about making money). They even manage to fit bettering the entire cleaning industry into their schedule, with programs like Big Green Lies that expose the problems of many claim-to-be-green companies. Our latest news on the eco-focused company, however, is a little sadder; CEO Jeffrey Hollender is stepping down from his post to help Seventh Generation get even bigger than it is now. Hollender will stay on as Chief Inspired Protagonist (why can’t every company have one of these?) and will always be Co-founder, but will be replaced in the CEO role by Chuck Maniscalco, a man with plenty of food and beverage companies under his belt but a lesser amount of environmentally-geared experience.

The change in leadership is being done to aid Seventh Generation in its goal to jump from $150 million in annual sales to $1 billion in annual sales—a task Hollender has stated is not best suited to him. Click here to read more
