Recycled Glass Blooms

As being eco becomes more mainstream, it’s wonderful to find artful decor pieces that have green qualities. Many small artisans are turning to sustainable materials to make their pieces unique. This Bloom in Blue coat rack for example was made by Dan Quaynor, a designer from Ghana. The focal point of the piece, the flowers, are made by recycling glass in the same way one would make glass beads, melting and forming the small pieces.
What’s great is that even though it’s an affordable handcrafted piece, the sea blue and iron combo are right on trend with the current colors in home decor. When visitors from your home ask where you got it, you can surprise them with a compelling story from West Africa rather than a boring, “West Elm” response.
The coat rack also helps save the earth since it doesn’t require a massive factory for manufacture. Click here to read more
