All you need is love…and a little less meat in your diet. Paul McCartney (along with his daughters Stella—the well known fashion designer—and Mary, pictured above) has thrown his support behind a new campaign called Meat Free Monday, which aims to encourage people all over the globe to have one meat-free day every week, for the sake of their own personal health and the environment.

Some may write off the McCartney’s support as a simple case of vegetarians pushing their beliefs on others, but that’s a far cry from what they’re suggesting. The environmental effects of our meat consumption are documented—the United Nations even estimates that meat could be one of the top two or three issues facing our environment.
