Liz Lange Maternity Offers Organic Clothes

Liz Lange has been a leader in the maternity fashion world for about a decade, creating flattering fashions to help preggers moms look and feel gorgeous. She’s been designing her budget-friendly Target line for years, but this season is the first time she’s added organic clothes to the line. Considering pregnant moms are uber concerned with their own health and that of their growing baby, it’s about time she created an eco-friendly clothing collection.

The line features super-soft offerings made of organic cotton, nylon and modal, a sustainable fabric created from beech tree cellulose. The collection includes pants, sweatshirts or graphic tees like the organic cotton butterfly tee pictured here or the multicolored crew tee made from a blend of organic cotton and modal. Affordable Eco Style Arrives at Target

Loomstate for TargetLoomstate for Target WomenRogan Gregory and Scott Hahn have been designing their certified organic cotton line Loomstate since 1994–but it’s a designer line, at designer prices. Now they’re bringing their same environmentally responsible and edgy design aesthetic to the masses with a limited edition collection of organic clothes at Target.

Appropriate for the season, you’ll find summer dresses, board shorts and bikinis. And there’s a mix of trendy pieces like a plaid shirt dress and basic staples like tanks and tees. Best of all, the cotton used is 100% certified organic cotton. Choosing organic clothes means the organic cotton was grown without the use of pesticides, which in turn is good for our soil and our waterways. Click here to read more

Saying Nau to Eco-friendly Fashion

Daily Greenz #78

Clothingnauburrsweater_2Nau, which means “welcome” in Maori, is fashioning
a whole new philosophy of eco-friendly style with its clothes and stores, both of which
are made entirely of recycled materials. We’re talking full-cycle

sustainability: from growth to distribution, their
practical yet trendy clothing is created from organic materials (who knew
polyester could be recycled?), which they develop directly with suppliers to
ensure quality control. They’re then
sold in tiny “webfronts,” which are about half the size of conventional
clothing
stores and built out of recycled aluminum and reclaimed hardwood to
ensure energy efficiency. To encourage
even greater eco-friendliness, they offer a 10% discount to customers who buy
directly from webfronts and will also donate 5% of all profits to a nonprofit
organization. Their credo to “Do well by
doing good” is clear in the way they fund carbon-reduction projects and buy
natural power to sustain business operations. So look good and feel good by making your next clothing purchase (like
the burr sweater pictured here for $123.50) at nau.com .
