Avalon Organics’ CoQ10 Skin Care Line Has Science On Its Side
We’re all products of a youth-obsessed society – and it’s inevitable that one day we look in the mirror and find we don’t look as young as we used to. Those of us who want to avoid needles and scalpels try product after product in search of that elusive ingredient that will keep us looking younger longer.
It seems that CoEnzyme Q10 could be just that ingredient. CoQ10 is an enzyme our bodies produce that’s essential to healthy cell function. It also has the ability to neutralize free radicals in the body. Unfortunately, the older we get, the less of it we manufacture – and the lower our levels of CoQ10 are, the less collagen and elastin we produce as well. Skin starts to wrinkle, faces start to look less youthful…you get the idea.
Taking CoQ10 supplements has been linked to numerous positive health benefits, including lowered blood pressure, slowing Alzheimer’s, and treating Parkinson’s disease. However, a German study found that topical application of the enzyme also reduces and can prevent signs of photoaging (skin damage caused by exposure to sunlight). The folks at Avalon Organics used this scientific research to create a skin care line that takes advantage of the anti-aging properties of CoQ10. Because we absorb up to 60% of what we put on our skin, products like CoQ10 Wrinkle Defense Creme can renew cells and actually diminish signs of aging.
