Ford made several upgrades on their 2009 Hybrid Escape that will certainly be to the liking of the consumer. Initially, the 2009 model comes standard with a 110-volt AC power outlet. Furthermore, the 2009 Escape features a 2.5-liter engine, up .2 liters from the 2008 version, which boosts the hp from 155 to 177. The braking system has been tweaked to offer better traction and control and the kinks that came up with 2008 Escape, such as noise and vibration, have seemingly been fixed.

CONS:

The main concern with the 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid is that it weighs 300 pounds more than the gas-powered version which gives the vehicle a heavy feel. Further, though it is an extremely well-suited car to drive the family around, it is not as apt as many other SUV’s in traversing bad weather and terrain and towing. However, when you look at the big picture, the 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid is an affordable, fuel and all-around efficient vehicle that overcomes its shortcomings to lead the hybrid SUV pack.
