Rechargeable
A rechargeable battery, also known as a storage battery, is a battery that can be restored to full charge by the application of electrical energy. Rechargeable batteries eliminate the need for endless batteries and keep dead conventional batteries out of land fills.

Reclaimed Wood
Reclaimed lumber is used wood that has been taken for re-use, often from long-standing idle buildings, and its sometimes refinished for new purposes. Most reclaimed lumber comes from timbers and decking rescued from old barns, factories and warehouses and some companies have been known to source wood from less traditional structures such as boxcars, coal mines, and wine barrels.

Recycled
Recycling is the reprocessing of old materials into new products, with the aims of preventing the waste of potentially useful materials, reducing the consumption of fresh raw materials, reducing energy usage, reducing air (from incineration) and water (from landfilling) pollution by reducing the need for "conventional" waste disposal, and lowering greenhouse gas emissions as compared to virgin production.

Recycling
The process of collecting, sorting, treating, reconstituting materials, and returning them to the economic mainstream in the form of raw materials for new products is called recycling. Recycling prevents the waste of potentially useful materials and reduces the consumption of fresh raw materials. It is a key component of modern waste management.

Reduce
The term reduce is used to denote a decrease in size, amount, extent, or number. Source reduction prevents the generation of waste and can be achieved by purchasing durable, long-lasting goods and buying products and packaging that are as free of toxins as possible. Redesigning products that use fewer raw materials in production, have a longer life, or can be used again after their original use is also a means of source reduction.

Remanufactured
Remanufacturing is the process of reconditioning products to sound working condition. As an example, Remanufacturing one toner cartridge keeps an average of two and a half kilograms of plastic out of landfills. Also since up to 80% less energy is required to remanufacture cartridges (versus creating new ones) overall green house gas emissions are significantly reduced as well.

Renewable energy
Renewable energy is the energy generated from natural resources such as sunlight, wind, rain, tides, and geothermal heat. The many types of renewable energy resources include moving water (hydro, tidal and wave power), thermal gradients in ocean water, biomass, geothermal energy, solar energy, and wind energy. Municipal solid waste (MSW) is also considered to be a renewable energy resource.

Renewable sources
Renewable sources are natural resources such as sunlight, wind, rain, tides and geothermal heat, which are naturally replenished and can be used for the generation of energy. Methane is also considered to be a renewable source of energy, as it can be burned to produce electricity.

Reuse
Reuse is a term for repairing, replenishing, washing, or recovering worn products, packaging appliances, furniture or building materials for internal use. It enables the reintroduction of waste materials into the economic stream without any chemical or physical change. Reusing products is even better than recycling because the item does not need to be reprocessed before it can be used again.
