The process of producing a vermicompost is called vermicomposting. A vermicompost, also known as a worm compost, is the end-product of the breakdown of organic matter by earthworms and other soil organisms. The earthworm species commonly used is red wigglers. Vermicompost is a nutrient-rich organic fertilizer and soil conditioner.
