When it comes down to it the
greenest card is the one you send online. There's no
carbon footprint from mailing the card and no trees need to be cut down to craft the card. That said, actual paper cards can mean a lot to people---sometimes more than
gifts. A sweet note scrawled inside a perfectly fitting card is hard to beat, but if you make that card a
recycled greeting card it's even better. Recycled greeting cards reuse paper that's already been printed (look for
100% recycled) for an entirely new creation that's just as effective at sending a message. For really
green greeting cards, try for recycled greeting cards that are printed with
soy-based inks and
processed without chlorine (keeping toxins and pollutants away from our earth).
