You've probably heard plenty about CFL and LED light bulbs lately, but did you know that you can also purchase energy efficient lighting in the form of fixtures, lamps and strands? The Energy Star program even certifies energy efficient lighting as well as energy efficient light bulbs. For indoor energy efficient lighting, Energy Star certification typically means a light fixture is designed to work together with a CFL or LED bulb for increased energy savings (and decreased electrical bills!). Outdoor energy efficient lighting often includes the use of solar power, whether it's for low garden lights or large motion sensor lamps.
